The annual Hurst Inter-House Film Competition is more of a Film Festival than a competition: a celebration not only of the staggering creativity of the students but also of the liberating approach to education this great school offers. Every year, each of the 12 houses gets the opportunity to work with Mike Carter, the College’s Writer in Residence, to plan, draft and refine their script before MCN Productions brings a film crew to their doorstep. The students perform in and direct their own short film. One month later the results of their hard work are screened at the New Bury Theatre and finally to the entire school with nominations, certificates and awards.
This is the ninth Hurst House Film Festival. MCN always welcomes the opportunity to work with the students and create a range of interesting and thought-provoking films.
The winning film is shown above. You can watch the other films below.
